Religious School

Temple Beth Am provides a complete program of religious education for
children and adults. Our religious school for children is sponsored jointly
with Temple Beth El, the Reform congregation of Jersey City. Our program student
begins with children in kindergarten, and continues through Confirmation. Children in our joint program benefit from the experience, knowledge, enthusiasm, and wisdom of Rabbis Gladstone and Brickman, and the program and curriculum complement the Jewish calendar.

Our goal is to develop well-informed, practicing
Reform Jews who are grounded in the moral and
ethical values of Judaism and strengthening Jewish
identity, our religious school curriculum stresses
Hebrew, Jewish history, Israel, and Jewish customs
and ceremonies.

Rabbis of both congregations teach in the combined Religious School, and each prepares his own congregation’s B'nai Mitzvah.

Please check the Temple's monthly calendar for information on special events of the Religious School.
